Age: This is an Open Tournament, all ages are welcome. Our hope is to use this as an opportunity for younger golfers to participate in a Formal Tournament setting and receive guidance from their Golf Mentors. Teams comprised of athletes 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult in order to operate golf carts.
Style of play will be Four Person Scramble.
This tournament is open to participants of all ages, however, if a participant is under 16, an adult must be on the team with the participant.
A scramble format means that all team members tee off on each hole and then decide which tee shot they like the best, then mark the spot with a tee or ball marker.
The other team members then pick up their balls and place them within one club length (no closer to the hole) of the marked spot. Each team member hits his/her next shot from the chosen spot of the prior shot.
If the ball you choose to play is in a hazard (sand, water, etc.), the rough or out of bounds, you cannot drop the ball outside of the hazard or rough even if relief is within one club length away.
This procedure is followed on every shot for the remainder of the hole, including putts. The ball should be marked on the putting green also.
Putts need to be placed within 3 inches of the marked spot (no closer to the hole). The first ball to go in the hole is counted for the team score. When putting, once any ball is holed out, no further strokes count The team is cautioned not to make any “tap” in putts until all team members have had the opportunity to attempt the team’s original putt.
Each Player’s tee shot must be used at least three times during the 18 -hole competition.
Men tee off from the white tees and women from the red tees.
*Rules may be subject to change prior to the tournament.
Check-in: All Golf teams need to check in at the Cedar Ridge Golf Course, on Friday, June 14 between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM. Each athlete will receive a welcome packet containing the official Utah Summer Games Athlete shirt and other assorted goodies. All teams must have waivers signed by all team members if over 18 or by parents or guardians if under 18. NO EXCEPTIONS.
